Cultivating the Mindset of True Discipleship

Day 1:
Beginning with a Renewed Mind

Scripture: Romans 12:2

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

Meditation: Begin by seeking a transformation from within. Ask the Holy Spirit to renew your thoughts, aligning them more closely with God’s will.

Day 2:
The Beatitudes – Humility and Meekness

Scripture: Matthew 5:3-5

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.”

Meditation: Reflect on humility and meekness. Consider areas in your life where you can embody these virtues, drawing closer to the heart of Jesus’ teachings.

Day 3
Seeking Righteousness

Scripture: Matthew 5:6

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.”

Meditation: Ponder your spiritual hunger. What does it mean to truly hunger and thirst for righteousness? Pray for a deeper desire to pursue godly living.

Day 4
Becoming a Peacemaker

Scripture: Matthew 5:9

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.”

Meditation: Contemplate ways in which you can be an ambassador of peace in your daily life. Ask God for wisdom and grace to reconcile and create harmony.

Day 5
Standing Firm in Persecution

Scripture: Matthew 5:10-12

“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

Meditation: Reflect on the cost of discipleship. Seek strength and resilience from the Holy Spirit to stand firm in your faith, even in adversity.

Day 6
The Great Commandments

Scripture: Mark 12:30-31

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”

Meditation: Consider the depth of love Jesus calls you to. Pray for a heart that loves God fully and loves others selflessly.

Day 7
Abiding in Jesus

Scripture: John 15:4-5

“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.”

Meditation: Reflect on your connection with Jesus. Seek to deepen your relationship with Him, understanding that it’s only through Him that true spiritual growth and fruitfulness come.

End each meditation session with a prayer, asking God to help you internalise the day’s scripture and teaching, shaping your mindset towards true discipleship
